Have Questions About Your Care? We’re Here to Help.

If you’re considering TMS or Spravato® treatment, you likely have questions and we’re ready to answer them. Explore some of the most common topics patients ask about below, or reach out to our team directly for personalized guidance.

What conditions do you treat at Atlanta Spravato & TMS Center?

NeuroStar® TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) is a non-invasive treatment that uses targeted magnetic pulses to stimulate underactive brain regions involved in mood regulation. It’s FDA-cleared for depression and OCD and does not require medication, anesthesia, or downtime.

Yes. Both Spravato® and TMS are covered by most major insurance providers, including Medicare, Tricare, and commercial plans. Our care team will help verify your benefits and coordinate any necessary pre-authorizations.

Spravato® (esketamine) is a fast-acting nasal spray approved for adults with TRD or MDD with suicidal thoughts. Administered in-clinic under medical supervision, it targets the NMDA receptor for rapid symptom relief when oral antidepressants alone aren’t enough.

Many Spravato® patients report noticeable improvement within 24–72 hours of their first dose. TMS patients often begin to see results within 2–4 weeks of starting their treatment series, with continued progress over time.

Spravato® treatments are conducted in a certified REMS clinic. You self-administer the nasal spray under supervision and stay for 2 hours of monitoring. TMS sessions take about 20 minutes and involve sitting comfortably while the magnetic coil delivers pulses to your scalp—no sedation required.

For TMS, yes—you can resume daily activities immediately. For Spravato®, you’ll need to arrange a ride home and rest for the remainder of the day. You cannot drive, work, or operate machinery until the next day.

Both treatments are FDA-cleared and have a strong safety profile. TMS has minimal side effects, typically limited to scalp discomfort. Spravato® may cause temporary dizziness, sedation, or dissociation—hence the required post-treatment observation.
